about

Ever since her mom's illness, Cheryl and her sister had been making things happen, from running errands, to making the tough decisions in the midst of the turmoil. Their brother referred to them as the “can-do girls” because there wasn’t anything they couldn’t do, nor was there anything they weren’t willing to do.

There is collective “goodness” within all of the caretakers and enablers in the world. They are all “good girls.” (Girl is used here to evoke the feminine quality of tending to needs and is not meant to be limited to women only—rather to “good girl energy.”)

In Botticelli ‘s painting, "Primavera," he depicts feminine muses together dancing and ushering in the growth and beauty of springtime. It is an apt image for this collective energy that holds our lives together and produces the necessary protection and growth. The energy required is freely given by the gracious and loving souls who make things happen, in the right way, at the right time.

lyrics

She is tired but has things she must finish
Wearily she thinks that she might rest tomorrow
After all, she is just who she is
After all, she does what every good girl must do
For everyone

Taking care of life, every detail
Going through all of the motions without question
After all, she is such a good girl
After all, can’t imagine her life any other way

Than to be, true-blue, unwavering
Steady and dedicated

Sure as the northern star shines
Someone that you can count on

Sure as tomorrow’s sunrise
Someone that you can count on

One of the “can-do” sisters
Ever-ready, poised

So her days are made of mindful, selfless giving
Second nature to her, this way of living
Even and abiding
Someone you can always count on
